Preview: Formula DRIFT Round 4 — Road Atlanta
The 2026 Formula DRIFT title fight heads to Road Atlanta for its most dramatic chapter yet. We preview all the key battles and championship implications.
Formula DRIFT Round 4 arrives at Road Atlanta with the championship genuinely wide open. Four drivers are within 127 points of leader Chelsea DeNofa, and with five rounds remaining, nothing is decided.
The Championship Picture
DeNofa leads on 312 points, Aasbø is second on 298 (gap: 14), Deane third on 285 (gap: 27), and Tuerck fourth on 271 (gap: 41). With 100 points available for a win, a single result could reshuffle the entire order.
The Circuit
Road Atlanta's competition layout is deceptively complex. The long, fast entry into the first clip rewards bravery, while the tighter technical second section separates those with genuine car balance from those relying on raw power. The most complete setups tend to win here.
Who Wins?
Tuerck has historically excelled at Road Atlanta — three top-four finishes in his last four starts here. Deane's technical style suits the layout. And DeNofa's ability to apply pressure in battles makes him dangerous at any venue.
Our prediction: James Deane takes the win, Tuerck second, Aasbø third. But with this field, we'd bet against ourselves.
One to Watch
Dylan Hughes. The young Camaro driver has been gradually building confidence all season, and the Road Atlanta layout rewards his particular brand of aggressive commitment. A maiden podium is not out of the question.
